Creating next generation of Mobile Applications Platform,
Wireless Developer gains support from Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation

Hong Kong, 1 Oct 2004 – Specialized in developing online mobile applications, M-Gen Mobile Technology Ltd. (M-Gen) was selected by Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) for its Incubation Programme in October 2004. This program is a technology-based service run by HKSTP, offering a comprehensive package of assistance to nurture technology start-ups. As an incubatee, M-Gen can focus on Research & Development (R&D) activities by reducing capital expenditure in its vulnerable inception stages.

In Hong Kong, the applications of mobile communication are mainly entertainment, for instance, SMS transmission and ring tone download. There is further potential to extend current market, however, other online applications are restricted owing to the complexities of WAP. To resolve the problem, M-Gen pioneers the development of M-Gen Mobile Applications Platform (MAP), a unified common interface for all mobile phones. This proprietary platform helps simplify the developmental procedure of multi-player mobile online application and shorten the time costs incurred. With the support from HKSTP, M-Gen will concentrate its efforts on R&D as well as launching the platform to local and global operators.

The Incubation Programme lasts for three years, which provides M-Gen with office premises and full services including reception, shared meeting rooms, dedicated internet access, etc. The program also offers other support such as technical and management, promotion and business matching assistance, which greatly enhances the progress of M-Gen’s business development.
